2021 Intramural FLxR Open
Our goals at FLxR Fitness are to educate, inspire and build community. Competition helps with the ‘inspire’ part: the pressure to perform pushes you to train harder; the social boost of dozens of your best friends cheering for you will help you reach a higher plane. Heck, watching your teammates GO is inspiring.
Every year, CrossFit HQ runs a multi-week event called “The CrossFit Open“. With the huge success we had with FLxR Street Fight, we’ve decided to create an in-house comp once again! We’re not interested in finding out how fast you can exercise against 400,000 other people worldwide. We ARE interested in helping you push to new levels in fitness, level up your life, and get 1000 high fives from the FLxR family.
Can we bring that worldwide thrill home? Can we deliver all the fun of competition without causing any anxiety attacks? We think so.
The Intramural Open will become one of our annual tradition at FLxR Fitness. So grab your wrist wraps and weight belts and get ready for the ride!
BREAKDOWN:
We’ll divide you up into teams, each with a Team Captain and a funny name.
Earn your team points for your team by participating, winning an event, and showing the most spirit during events.
Three weeks of intense, novel workouts, and a Mystery Event Four.
Draft will happen between now and March 2. (Coaches will still be recruiting those who haven’t signed up after. We want YOU to sign up this year; are you really going to say no to BOO? I don’t think so.)

Make-Ups & Video Submissions:
We would love for everyone to make the Saturday workouts, however, we understand that not everyone will be able to
If you are unable to attend a Saturday for the competition, make-ups and video submissions of the workout will be allowed
Make-ups and video submissions can be submitted up until the following Monday @ 5:00pm.
CF Open workouts can be done during Open Gym hours. During Open Gym hours, you can get a coach to judge you or use your phone to record the workout
If you can only do the CF Open workouts during class times, that is fine as well. However, the coach’s priority is to coach the class, not to judge your workout. You can record yourself doing the workout at the gym and the coaches will do their best to accommodate you
Video Rules
Keep it simple, use your phone. Send the video to Micah or Lauren anyway you want, or post to the FLxR Facebook group
All video submissions should be uncut and unedited in order to accurately display the performance. A clock or timer, with the running workout time clearly visible, should be in the frame throughout the entire workout. Shoot the video from an angle so all exercises can be clearly seen meeting the movement standards.
