NCT26’ CrossFit Gym Competition

The North County Throwdown is Back: Bigger, Better, and Now for the Masters!

The energy, the community, and the coastal vibes are returning to Carlsbad. We are thrilled to officially announce that CrossFit FLxR’s North County Throwdown is back for 2026! 🌴πŸ’ͺ

Last year was an incredible display of fitness and camaraderie, but for 2026, we knew we had to level up. This year, we are expanding to a full two-day event on June 6th and 7th to celebrate more athletes than ever before.

A New Weekend Tradition:

To accommodate our growing community, we’ve split the weekend into two distinct days of competition:

  • Saturday, June 6th: The Open Divisions Saturday will be dedicated to our Rx and Intermediate athletes. Whether you’re looking to test your limits against the region’s best or take on your first local competition, Saturday is your time to shine.

  • Sunday, June 7th: The Masters Takeover For the first time ever, we are dedicating an entire day to our Masters Athletes! Sunday is all about experience and grit. We are launching with the following age categories:

    • 45–54 Division

    • 55+ Division(Stay tuned: Depending on registration numbers, we may add even more age brackets!)

Events & Movement Standards:

  • Event 1 - Revision Barbell’sMy Generation (Movement Standards & Video Demo)

    • Thruster + Cluster Ladder

      • Male - 75, 95, 115, 135, 155, 165, 175, 185, 205, 215, 225, 235

      • Female -65, 75, 85, 95, 105, 115, 125, 135, 140, 145, 150, 155

      • MSR Male -65, 75, 85, 95, 105, 115, 135, 145, 155, 165, 175, 185

      • MSR Female - 45, 55, 65, 75, 85, 95, 105, 115, 120, 130, 135, 145

    • All Open Divisions will do the same Thruster Ladder. All Masters Divisions will do the same Thruster ladder.

    • Athletes will lift individually. A team's score will be the sum of each athlete’s heaviest successful lift.

      • 00:50 lift time / 00:15 transition time to next station

      • Athletes will have as many attempts at the weight within the 00:50 time domain

      • If an athlete does not successfully complete the lift in the 00:50 domain, they will exit the ladder

        • Cluster Complex must be completed in the 00:50 time domain, meaning the barbell must be lifted to the locked out overhead position by the 00:50 time point. This is necessary to prevent a backup between barbells.

      • Permissible Lifts:

        • Cluster

        • Thruster

    • 12 total stations

    • SCORE - Total combined weight lifted for the team. At the final station, athletes may perform as many lifts as possible of the complex within the 00:50 window, adding 5 LBS to the total per individual athlete.

      • Example: Female teammate lifted 175 LBS x 3 reps (cluster+thurster+thurster). This would increase the overall weight to 180 LBS for her total.

    • Event #1 Scorecard

    • Athletes start facing away from the wall on the wall walk line (hands). On β€œGo” the athletes may proceed to the first movement.

    • Wall Walks - For all divisions must be synchronized. For full wall walks, 4 hands must be on the starting line to start, 4 hands on the line at the top of the movement and then all 4 hands back on the starting line before the next rep may start.

      • For scaled wall walks to be synchronized, all 4 hands only need to be in the starting position together at the start of movement before the next rep can begin.

    • Deadlift - Each athlete must perform at least one deadlift, each round. Otherwise, split reps at teams see fit. Athletes are responsible for weight changes before Part B. Only 1 athlete working at a time.

    • Wallball - Split reps as teams see fit. No requirement of each athlete to perform movement. Only 1 athlete working at a time. Mixed sex teams - each athlete will have their own wall ball.

      • RX and Intermediate Divisions: Male - 10' & Female - 9' targets

      • Masters Divisions: 9' target for all

        • If a team elects to scale, they will automatically be ranked below teams that perform the workout as written

    • Score: There are two scores for this workout, Part A and Part B. If a team does not complete Part A in time, they will receive a β€œDNF” for Part B.

      • Part A - Time to complete

      • Part B - Time to complete (if Part A is completed)

    • Event #2 Scorecard

However, if both athletes are working on completing bike calories together, the bike will be allowed to roll while transitions are happening.

    • Ski Erg - Hands must remain off the handles of the ski while the other athlete is performing another movement.

    • Sandbag/Dead Ball - Sandbag must be settled on the ground before the next rep may start.

    • Same sex teams will have 1 sandbag; mixed teams will each have their own sandbag or dead ball.
